Refresh Frisco provides children enrolled in our program with individual pre-packaged bags (Refresh Packs) that include full-sized essential hygiene products to last for 3 months. Once your child is enrolled, they are enrolled for the remainder of the school year.
Our Refresh Packs are tailored to the child's age and gender preference. A basic pack (for elementary students) includes toothpaste, toothbrush, floss, shampoo, conditioner, body wash/bar soap, lip balm, comb/brush, and lotion. Packs for those in middle and high school will also include shaving cream, deodorant, and feminine products for females. Ethnic shampoo and conditioner are provided upon request. (Additional items such as hand sanitizer or sunscreen may also be provided, based on the season.) Each pack also includes a Refresh Card (handwritten message of encouragement).
Our Refresh Packs are delivered once a quarter (so once every 3 months). Our distributions are typically in August, November, February, and May. Once enrolled, you will receive several emails before each distribution with details on when and where packs will be distributed. Our packs will be available for pick up through drive-thru distributions (for both Virtual Academy and Face-2-Face students) or will be delivered to schools (for Face-2-Face students).
Proper hygiene is important for a child's health and self-esteem. At Refresh Frisco, our mission is to ensure that every child in our community has access to personal hygiene items. We can only accomplish this mission with your help and the help of others. Please consider donating so we may be able to supply a quarterly Refresh Pack of hygiene items to every child in need in Frisco ISD. Thank you for helping us make a difference in the lives of many Frisco kids!
Our organization connects with students in need through the Frisco ISD school staff and administration. We work with nurses at each campus to identify students in need. Quarterly, we deliver individual pre-packaged bags (Refresh Packs) to Frisco ISD schools that include essential hygiene products to last each child for 3 months. Our care packages are discreetly distributed to the students via the school and the student's identity is protected and confidential.
Our Refresh Packs are tailored to the child's age and gender. A basic pack will include toothpaste, toothbrush, floss, shampoo, conditioner, body wash/bar soap, lip balm, comb/brush, and lotion. Packages for those in middle and high school will also include shaving cream, deodorant, and feminine products. Ethnic shampoo and conditioner available upon request. We also include a Refresh Card (handwritten inspirational message of encouragement) in each pack.
Good hygiene promotes better health and prevents illness, infections, and rashes from spreading. Good personal hygiene increases self-confidence and helps children to feel good about themselves and their appearance. Lack of self esteem, especially during the teenage years, can negatively impact a student's performance in school as well as their ability to form meaningful relationships and friendships.
Frisco ISD is among the fastest growing school districts in the nation. Although Frisco is widely seen as an affluent community, many situations (job loss, family deaths, divorce, medical issues) contribute to the numbers of those in financial crisis on the rise in our community. As of January 2020, of the students enrolled in FISD, 13% (over 8,190 students) are economically disadvantaged. Hygiene items are NOT covered under government assistance programs such as SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), making the need for these items even greater.
Covid-19 has affected many families in different ways; some are struggling with the loss or illness of a loved-one, or the loss or reduction of an income. Demand for our hygiene packs has risen by almost 200% since the onset of Covid-19. As we are a new nonprofit our inventory and funds are limited. If you would like to help a child in our community in need please consider donating hygiene products or make a donation.

Founder Elizabeth Watkins has felt a calling to serve from an early age. She has spent the last 12 years volunteering at her children’s schools, with strong experience as a PTA board member at four Frisco ISD campuses and a board member of the Frisco ISD Council of PTAs. For the past five years, she has volunteered weekly at a local food pantry.
Touched by the need she saw in our community through her volunteer work, Liz set a goal to serve others by starting a nonprofit. She earned a Nonprofit Management Certificate, met with Frisco ISD administration, and researched the needs of our Frisco community. In May 2019, Refresh Frisco was born. We are so excited about the opportunity to help ensure that every child in our community has access to personal hygiene items. We hope that you will be inspired to join us as we give the gift of good hygiene to children in need in our community.
“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’ ”
—Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
