What are Refresh Cards?
Refresh Cards add a personal, encouraging touch to our hygiene packs, giving Frisco, Little Elm, and Denton Braswell students more than just essential items – they provide a boost of inspiration. Crafted with care and compassion, these cards deliver handwritten messages that brighten the day of the recipient. Your contribution helps make each pack special – thank you!
Crafting Supplies You'll Need
- 3x5 or 4x6 cards OR thick cardstock/construction paper cut to size (any color)
- An assortment of colorful markers or pens
Guidelines for Creating Refresh Cards
As these cards reach students of varied ages and beliefs, we ask you to adhere to the following guidelines:
- Avoid religious references or quotes
- Keep messages gender-neutral
- Don't include your name on the card
- Make sure cards are handwritten
- Use one or both sides of the card
- Repetition is allowed, as each card goes to a different child
- Write clearly and large enough for younger readers (avoid ornate handwriting)
- Ensure each card is meaningful and not just a few words - be creative! Make use of drawings, stickers, and different colored markers. Remember, quality trumps quantity!

Here are a few examples, but feel free to create your own inspiring messages:
- "Have an amazing day!"
- "You're perfect just the way you are!"
- "Make today count!"
- "Follow your dreams!"
- "It's a good day to be happy!"
Once Your Cards are Ready
Don’t forget to capture the moment! Snap a picture of your child or group with their completed Refresh Cards and send it to info@refreshntx.org. We love sharing your creations on our Refresh Facebook and Website.
Drop off your completed cards at any of our designated locations, and be sure to include your child/group’s name so we can thank them!
If you’re aiming to earn service hours, contact Anja Newbury at info@refreshntx.org. You can earn 1-2 service hours (25 cards = 1 hour, 50 cards = 2 hours). Let your creativity flow and take the time to create special cards – it’s all about quality over quantity!
